I spend a few mornings a week at my local gym, generally lifting weights. It's good for me. Strong and supple are my future goals.
However. It can be very difficult being a movement based professional and watching people unintentionally possibly harm themselves while making the simple act of lifting much harder than it needs to be. Take wall pushups. You ever see an eagle with their wings in front of their beak? No? Me neither. So why do pushups with your hands above your shoulders? Bring them down, just outside your shoulders and below them slightly. Boom! Easier, safer, much better for you. Now you too can fly an eagle (I won't sing it) and push up safely. |
